Louis Falcon and Arthur Berlowitz

Professor Lou Falcon and research associate Art Berlowitz pioneered work on using viruses to control agricultural pests like corn earworm and codling moth.

As their name implies, corn earworms – Helicoverpa zea (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) – infest the ears of corn through the tassel end and chew on the developing kernels.
