Charitopus

Return to Introduction
1 Metasoma yellow with dark bands laterally…………..……………………………. sp. 1

1’ Body completely dark ………………………….………………………..………… sp. 2

Sp. 1: Los Angeles (UCR).This has the typical Charitopus gestalt, and was given a mss name of C. californicus by Gordon Gordh.

Sp. 2:  Kern (RLZC). Most Charitopus have a yellow metasoma, although Trjapitzin (2008) noted some species may be all dark. This species has typical Charitopus venation, scutellar sculpture, and small mid-tibial spur. Parapsidal lines are present, although not complete, and F2-F6 are longer than broad (F1 variable between specimens). So this may not be a true Charitopus, but it is the conservative taxon within which to place it.
