Remarks
In my checklist of the California Encyrtidae (Zuparko, 2015), I mistakenly reported that both described species had been based on brachypterous specimens, and thus the fully winged specimens in the UCDC (Imperial County) and UCRC collections (Imperial & San Bernardino counties) might represent a new species. In fact these specimens appear to be conspecific with F. neomexicanus. In specimens at the USNM, F. neomexicanus had dense patches of white setae on each lateral panel of the propodeum, while on F. thoreauini the patches were greatly reduced, but I did not include this character in the key, since it is possible that the setae had simply been rubbed off.
