Cal Day: Bug Day

Cal Day, held in April of each year, is a campus-wide open house at the University of California at Berkeley. Many departments, museums, academic and social organizations host displays, talks, and events. Cal Day is the best time for the general public to visit the Essig Museum, as we have displays, presentations, bug hunts, live arthropods, insect art, and other fun and educational offerings.

Darwin Day at the Essig Museum!

This year marks 200 years since Charles Darwin's birth on February 12th. To celebrate this event, we opened our doors to the public for a rare peek at the Essig Museum of Entomology. We had exhibits and tours for the public throughout the afternoon, and this year's tours were very well attended. Next year we will be celebrating Darwin Day in our new location over in the VLSB. Hope to see you there!
